Tecno 3FP: 8kW high power density for great performance
Story courtesy of E. Castello/RMO
In the ever-more competitive landscape of sheet-metal working, technological innovation means success for companies in the sector. Tecno 3FP, an advanced subcontractor, is the perfect example of how adopting cutting-edge technology, in particular a Salvagnini L3 laser with 8kW high power density source, allows ever-more complex activities to be managed while improving productivity and overall efficiency.

Highlights
- Tecno 3FP
Founded in 2008, Tecno 3FP, an advanced subcontractor in Cherubine, a suburb of Cerea, near Verona, was immediately able to set itself apart with its ability to act as a single point of contact for a wide customer base which includes both those interested to prototypes and single batch, as well as large batches. Over the years, the company has recorded constant growth, expanding its production facilities and investing in cutting-edge technologies. - The context
The continuous growth and customization of the products offered has required the company to expand its production facilities over the years. In addition to the headquarters in Cherubine, the company has added the cutting division, at the Legnago site, and the welding center in Cerea, which give Tecno 3FP a total of 6500 m2 of plant space, staffed by a total of 70 employees. - The project
“Our investments are always driven by a long-term vision: on the one hand, we are investing in innovation in our machine inventory in order to remain at the cutting edge in terms of technology, while on the other we are aiming to extend the number of operations we can offer customers and carry out in-house,” explains Matteo Faben, owner of the company. Within this continuous evolution, in late 2023 Tecno 3FP installed a new Salvagnini L3 laser. This system is equipped with an 8kW high power density source, that guarantees cutting speeds higher than any other traditional 8 kW source, and at thicknesses of up to 6 mm achieves cutting speeds even greater than those of a 10 kW source. The Salvagnini LTWS store-tower, equipped with automatic loading-unloading, makes different materials and thicknesses available for just-in-time production, reducing waiting times for sheet metal feeding, and operator dependency. The ACUT option, on the other hand, allows Salvagnini lasers to cut with suitably treated compressed air. - The outcome
"The new L3 has met all the goals which led us to insert it in our machine inventory: the productivity is genuinely excellent, it has provided a leap in quality for cutting 6/8mm stainless steel, the store-tower allows us to work even in unmanned shifts, and ACUT reduces the gas costs. What more can you ask from a laser?” Faben wonders.
