Highlights

  1. Cerenn Industrie
Cerenn Industrie designs, manufactures and markets removable steel partitions with high acoustic performance from its Sarre-Union plant in France, serving French and European markets. Its project-based production must reconcile aesthetics, fire compliance, installation speed and tight tolerances.
  2. The challenge
After more than 30 years, Cerenn’s original automated S4+P4 line was limiting further progress. The company needed to reduce scrap, respond faster and produce small, sheet-by-sheet batches more easily, while integrating project variants and demanding production constraints without compromising repeatability, process stability or product quality.
  3. The solution
Cerenn installed an S4+P4 flexible manufacturing system integrating an MBT bi-tower store for around 30 pallets and 90 tons, SMD, S4 punching machine, MCU and P4-3220 panel bender with P tool, CLA blades and CUT. Maximum bending length is 3,200 mm. STREAM and OPS manage production lists, sequencing and part tracking from ERP/MRP systems in real time.
  4. Results
Output increased from 120 to 300 panels per eight-hour shift, while cycle-time reduction targets were exceeded. Scrap fell by a further 30% and energy consumption decreased by 70%. Weekend unmanned production, higher application flexibility and greater process continuity strengthen capacity and support Cerenn’s growth in subcontracting.
